Books! Books! Books!

Hey everyone!!  I have been working very hard in our classroom and have had a chance to meet many of you.  I wanted to show you some of the book areas in our room!

This is one of the areas that I have in our room for books.  On this cart you will find non-fiction books in the top and fiction books in the bottom in lettered buckets.  I have MANY books to choose from!

This is our library corner.  There are soft seats to sit on and MORE books! I have bins that have books by some of my favorite authors like Marc Brown and Dr. Seuss.

Sometimes I like to let kids listen to stories on CDs.  This little cozy area will be used during workstation time for listening center.

I am really looking forward to seeing you all next week!

Hello First Graders!

Welcome!!!
If you are reading this, then you probably have gotten the letter that says that I will be your first grade teacher this year!  I have been having a great summer relaxing and getting ready for September 2nd when we will start our journey together!

For the Moms and Dads reading this, I am going to make a "New school year resolution" to keep this blog updated.  I have had some years when I was spot-on and some years where I did not post as much as I wanted to!  The thing that will keep me motivated to post is getting responses from you! You can post a comment as yourself or as "anonymous". Please know that I have to approve all comments so if you post as anonymous and do not identify yourself in the comment as a parent, I will not post it.

Thanks!

Here are some fun things that I did this summer!
I watched my kids Nathan and Natalie (who are BOTH now teenagers) swim!
We visited some friends in New Hampshire and Natalie got to feed some very cute cows! they love corn husks. Who knew?
We visited family in Vermont and I got to see my very FIRST EVER MOOSE!  He was around for about 2 days eating all of the pond lilies in this pond!
I spent a lot of time with these 2 awesome kids.  You may be able to tell from this picture that my kids are not RANGERS!
I spent a week at Keuka Lake staring at this view! It was incredible!

Leave me a message and let me know what you did this summer!  I cannot wait to meet you all!
